Audition Policy

Information for artists interested in permforming at the Wintonbury Coffeehouse
  • The Wintonbury Coffeehouse is an outreach of Wintonbury Baptist Church. To help you determine if your music would be a good match for this venue, please first go to this brief statement about our purpose and programming.
  • We only book musicians who we have had the opportunity to hear in person. If you appear to be a good match for our programming goals and you keep us apprised of your schedule, we will attempt to hear you when you are performing in the area. Due to our audition policy, we are only interested in musicians located in the northeastern United States or who tour here regularly. If it is impossible for us to hear you at a public performance, we will do our best to arrange a private audition for you.
  • While we never book a performer on the basis of CD's or demo recordings, these can be helpful to us in determining if your material is compatible with our programming goals. If you would like to send us a demo, please mail it to: Wintonbury Coffeehouse - 54 Maple Avenue - Bloomfield, CT 06002
  • Artists performing at the Wintonbury Coffeehouse are expected to use only live accompaniment. This means no drum machines, midi tracks, or taped accompaniment. For an explanation of this policy please read our live music statement.
  • We book a wide variety of styles of music at the Wintonbury Coffeehouse, including modern folk, traditional folk, Celtic, gospel, bluegrass, pop, jazz, light/acoustic rock, and modern/alternative sounds. Examples of some of the artists who have been featured at Wintonbury include: Brooks Williams, Tree by Leaf, Nate & James, Michael Kelly Blanchard, Julee Glaub, Pierce Pettis, Harrod & Funck, Vesper, Maeve, and Nico.
