I. We invite you to join us at the Wintonbury Coffeehouse on Saturday, June 14th, when Nico brings his full band for an acoustic set. Describing themselves as a "rock-funk-soul-blues-hippyhearted-whatever band," Nico's music defies categories, combining styles that you've never heard combined before. As the band says, they "musically come from around the corner and say boo." Their lyrics dig into the stuff of everyday life: love, relationships, God, plus some things that no one else writes songs about, like power lines. This is a band with a fresh outlook, tremendous energy, and a lot to offer to any audience. You can visit them online and hear samples of their music at www.sillyman.com

We'll open the evening with a set from singer/songwriter and guitarist Bryan Graves. Bryan comes to us from Boston (by way of California) with a refreshingly honest collection of songs that explore the joys and struggles of life. Check out his web site at www.bryangraves.com

The Wintonbury Coffeehouse is held on the second Saturday of the month at Wintonbury Baptist Church, 54 Maple Avenue, Bloomfield, Connecticut. Starting time is 7:30 p.m., and the doors open at 7:00. There is no charge for admission or refreshments. A $7 donation is suggested to cover expenses.

II. Audio File of the Month - "The Train Song" recorded live at Wintonbury by Tree by Leaf, April 12, 2003. Garrett Soucy's take on the classic "gospel train" theme.

III. Links of the Month - Looking for some great Christian music this summer? Here are some festivals you'll want to consider attending:
JesusFest - June 21, Vernon, CT
SoulFest - July 31-August 3, Lincoln, NH
One Heart - August 16, Danbury, CT

IV. Last Month's Coffeehouse - A small audience (about 50) got a big treat on May 10th, as we got to hear Anadara Farmer and her band. Anadara is moving to California to get married in August, so we were very glad to host her before she left this coast. For the second set, Bob Stanhope gave us one what may have been the best set he's ever played at Wintonbury (and that's saying a lot).

V. Summer Break - We're taking July and August off this year. We hope you'll join us in the fall when we return on Saturday, September 13th with Nate & James and Koo Chung.
