I. This Month's Coffeehouse – Maeve and Abigail Zsiga
II. Link of the Month – RyanHood
III. Last Month’s Coffeehouse – Shana Cassidy and Brooke Campbell
I. Join us on Saturday, December 10th, as we welcome that incredible trio, Maeve, back to our stage. Three Boston-area singer/songwriters, Rachel Taylor, Courtney Reid, and Rollyn Zoubek, join together to form this powerhouse girl group. Each is an excellent singer/songwriter in her own right, but Maeve is much more than the sum of its parts. When these three come together, the mix of folk, acoustic rock and jazz they create is serendipitous, almost magical. Their voices in harmony have a quality that transcends their individual voices, as good as those are. This is an evening not to be missed. You can hear some of Maeve’s songs recorded live at Wintonbury in the Listening Room, and also visit them on the web at www.maevemusic.com
We’ll open the evening with a set from a Wintonbury newcomer, Abigail Zsiga. Abigail is a pop singer/songwriter, originally from England and now living in the New Haven area. Her songwriting is amazing, and her vocals are way beyond amazing. You’ve just gotta come and hear her. You can visit her web site at www.abigailzsiga.com
The Wintonbury Coffeehouse is held on the second Saturday of the month at Wintonbury Church, 54 Maple Avenue in Bloomfield. Starting time is 7:30. There is no charge for admission or refreshments, but we suggest a $7 donation to help meet expenses.
II. Link of the Month – RyanHood is the acoustic duo of Ryan Green and Cameron Hood, both recent Gordon College graduates. They are the most exciting duo we’ve heard since Harrod & Funck, and they are coming to Wintonbury on January 14th.
III. Last Month’s Coffeehouse – Everyone seemed to really enjoy the musicians on November 12 – Shana Cassidy with a full band, and Brooke Campbell with a full voice. We look forward to having both of these very gifted artists back again. Also much appreciated were the brownie sundaes, offered at the November coffeehouse for the first time. About 70 people turned out for this one.
