IV. Last Month's Coffeehouse - cancelled and rescheduled

I. Join us on Saturday, February 12th, as we welcome that incredible trio, Maeve, back to our stage. Three Boston-area singer/songwriters, Rachel Taylor, Courtney Reid, and Rollyn Zoubek, join together to form this powerhouse girl group. Each is an excellent singer/songwriter in her own right, but Maeve is much more than the sum of its parts. When these three come together, the mix of folk, acoustic rock and jazz they create is serendipitous, almost magical. Their voices in harmony have a quality that transcends their individual voices, as good as those are. This is an evening not to be missed. You can hear some of Maeve's songs recorded live at Wintonbury in the Listening Room at the coffeehouse web site, and also visit them on the web at www.maevemusic.com

(By the way, our congratulations and best wishes to Rollyn Zoubek - she and her husband are expecting their first child (a daughter) in April! We weren't aware of this when we chose Rollyn's "Angel Girl" for our song of the month in January, but it turned out to be a very appropriate choice.)

We'll open the evening with a set from a Wintonbury newcomer, Jeremy Hopkins. Jeremy is a young singer/songwriter from Torrington with a dynamic pop/rock style and a collection of infectious songs centered on love, relationships, and finding hope in something better. You can find out more about Jeremy on the web at www.jeremyhopkins.com

The Wintonbury Coffeehouse is held on the second Saturday of the month at Wintonbury Baptist Church, 54 Maple Avenue, Bloomfield, Connecticut. Starting time is 7:30 p.m., and the doors open at 7:00. There is no charge for admission or refreshments. A $7 donation is suggested to cover expenses.

II. Audio File of the Month - "Break Down the Walls" by Bob Stanhope. "Break down the walls/That hold us all/We're all in this together." Recorded at Wintonbury on March 13, 2004.

III. Link of the Month - Robin O'Herin is a fine fingerstyle and slide guitarist - and a terrific singer, to boot. We're looking forward to hearing her acoustic blues and gospel music at Wintonbury on April 9.

IV. Last Month's Coffeehouse - Our January 8th coffeehouse was cancelled due to the weather. Michael Kelly Blanchard has been rescheduled to play at Wintonbury on June 11th. Micah Vierling has not yet been rescheduled, but we hope to get him on this spring's schedule as well.

Please visit our web site at http://www.wintonburycoffeehouse.org for a complete schedule of upcoming coffeehouses, information for musicians interested in playing at Wintonbury, and more.
