III. Last Month's Coffeehouse - Dave Potts & Josh Strecker

I. On April 8, Ben & Vesper Stamper invite you into their musical home of sounds forged in the fires of matrimony. With a butter-yellow Telecaster and a hushed croon, Ben leads you on a tour through this collection of brand new compositions, ranging from downright spooky to a dreamlike absurdity. All this is put into focus by the comfort and strength of Vesper's voice, echoed by her delicate accordion-work. Masterful arrangements are lovingly placed by the brilliant performances of Chris Weisman and Wintonbury's own Josh Stamper, who spend the evening swapping instruments and playing their hearts out. Visit Ben & Vesper on the web at www.benandvesper.com

We'll open the evening with a set from Hitoshi Yamaguchi. Tosh is a young singer/songwriter from Worcester who brings a fresh outlook and thoughtful lyrics to his audience. Join us on April 8 and welcome him back to the Wintonbury stage.

The Wintonbury Coffeehouse is held on the second Saturday of the month at Wintonbury Church, 54 Maple Avenue in Bloomfield. Starting time is 7:30. There is no charge for admission or refreshments, but we suggest a $7 donation to help meet expenses.

II. Link of the Month - SoulFest - Making summer plans? Consider taking in New England's premier Christian music and teaching festival, August 2-6.

III. Last Month's Coffeehouse - We really enjoyed the coffeehouse on March 11, in spite of the fact that we both had "flu-like viruses" and were feeling pretty rotten. Josh Strecker gave us an excellent opening set, accompanied by sax player Taylor Smith. Dave Potts showed us in his first Wintonbury appearance that in addition to being a wonderful singer and songwriter, he is a very funny guy. We look forward to having him again on one of his future trips to New England. About 80 people joined us for this one. We also want to say a special thanks to the March cleanup crew, who set an all-time speed record when they got the room cleaned up and set for Sunday school in 45 minutes - that was great!
