III. June Coffeehouse - Bob Stanhope and Erica Soucy
I. Join us on Saturday, August 12th to hear urban folk artist Tom Conlon. For more than ten years, Tom has been touring the country and charming audiences with great songs and an intimate, storyteller's style. Tom's songs are reflective ballads, rich with emotional honesty and poetic lyricism, and his music combines elements of traditional folk, soul, and gospel. Come and experience the music that has won over audiences all over the country. You can visit Tom on the web at www.tomconlonmusic.com
We'll open the evening with a set from a couple of Wintonbury newcomers, Steve and Jon Rodgers. Steve and Jon are the frontmen of the popular New Haven band Mighty Purple, and they are performing as an acoustic duo while the band is on hiatus. Check out their web site at www.mightypurple.com
The Wintonbury Coffeehouse is held on the second Saturday of the month at Wintonbury Church, 54 Maple Avenue in Bloomfield. Starting time is 7:30. There is no charge for admission or refreshments, but we suggest a $7 donation to help meet expenses.
II. Link of the Month - White Horse Inn - Visit the archives of the nationally syndicated radio program White Horse Inn, a stimulating roundtable discussion of Christian theology and apologetics.
III. June Coffeehouse - Our last coffeehouse was on June 10, when Bob Stanhope and Erica Soucy joined us for a night of quality acoustic music. That was so long ago that we really can't remember much about it except that it was good. Bob's as funny as ever, and Erica's songwriting gets better all the time.
