II. Link of the Month - Phoebe Henry
III. Last Month's Coffeehouse - Tom Conlon and Steve & Jon Rodgers
I. Singer/songwriter Brooke Campbell returns to the Wintonbury stage on Saturday, September 9 in the feature slot. Brooke's beautiful voice is clear and sweet, and her songs speak of the pains and joys of real life and faith. You can visit her on the web at www.brooke-campbell.com
We'll open the evening with singer/songwriter and keyboardist Anna Brewer (and maybe a couple of friends). Anna has graced our stage several times - as a member of Shepherd's Pi and on her own. You can hear a sampling of her music at her new site, www.myspace.com/annabrewer
The Wintonbury Coffeehouse is held on the second Saturday of the month at Wintonbury Church, 54 Maple Avenue in Bloomfield. Starting time is 7:30. There is no charge for admission or refreshments, but we suggest a $7 donation to help meet expenses.
II. Link of the Month - Phoebe Henry (http://www.phoebehenry.com) - We heard Phoebe for the first time this month, and were very impressed with her songwriting and musical talent. Hard to believe she's only 16. She'll be at Wintonbury on January 13, opening for Michael Kelly Blanchard.
III. Last Month's Coffeehouse - We were blown away on August 12 by Steve and Jon Rodgers, the frontmen of the band Mighty Purple. They are just amazing, and we know the audience will be glad to know that we've booked them to play the feature set at Wintonbury on November 11. Tom Conlon was wonderful as usual, and played a tender and contemplative set that seemed to be just what everyone needed.
Please visit our web site at http://www.wintonburycoffeehouse.org for a complete schedule of upcoming coffeehouses, information for musicians interested in playing at Wintonbury, and more.
